Claire McCarthy RDH, MA HPE, CERT.ED, FAETC, RDN, FHEA

Claire McCarthy is a dental hygiene graduate of Trinity College Dublin.  Claire is visiting professor and adjunct instructor at New York University, College of Dentistry, US.  She is Honorary Clinical Fellow at Guys & St.Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK and is currently undertaking her PhD at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, Kings College London.

Claire earned her MA in teaching and learning in higher education from the University of London in 2007 and spent eight years as course coordinator for BDS 1 and BDS 2 periodontology at Kings College London.  She now teaches at post-graduate level to periodontology and implantology residents at NYU.  Her areas of interest are curriculum design and pre-clinical education, periodontal and implant instrumentation techniques, and interventions to increase patient engagement with homecare recommendations.
